Welcome

Nancy and Katja

Hi,

Thank you so much for visiting. This is my first ever website and I hope you like what you find and enjoy the fruits of my labor.

My name is Nancy Newman and I love to write and illustrate books, especially for Blind and Low-Vision children. This is probably due to the fact that I have a beautiful teenage daughter who was born with congenital cataracts and later diagnosed with Aniridia and Glaucoma. She has inspired me completely and has even begun spreading her literary wings by co-writing my Cocoa and Katie series with me. Katja, (very similar to Katie, isn’t it (grin)) has written the fourth book called, Cocoa and Katie off to Sports Camp based on her experiences at a sports camp for the Blind and Low-Vision. The three previous books I wrote using other positive experiences Katja had when she was younger.

I have also started a second series based on the travels of a black cat, who happens to be based on OUR black cat also called Toula. My intentions are to help children develop their vocabulary through these stories and learn a positive moral. I really hope these stories will be enjoyable and useful to the children in your life.
